Time to hang the bird houses! Nordic mythology has lots of bird - including the ravens Hunin and Munin, who travel the world bringing news to Odin. Perhaps my wife was thinking of Hunin and Munin when she painted these watchful birds on our bird houses. Birds also flourish on Yggdrasil, the world tree and are protected at the top by Veorfolnir, the hawk.
